Economic Impact Payment FAQs

When will I get the check?

This is determined by the IRS. We will find out the same time you will.

Why haven’t I gotten my check yet?

This is determined by how you filed your taxes, among other things the IRS handles. To contact them about your check, call them at 1-800-829-1040.

Where can I check my payment status?

You can check your Economic Impact Payment on the IRS’ website.

Unfortunately, your credit union or other financial institution will not be able to predict the date it will be deposited in your account.

Why can’t I use the funds yet?

SIU Credit Union does not have any control over when that money will be disbursed. As soon as these Economic Impact payments are received, they will be posted to your account. Check IRS.gov to see the latest updates, and log in to online banking to check on your deposit. From there, you can also sign up to receive deposit alerts so you’ll know exactly when your money is available.

When will my pending check be posted?

You can check the date in online banking. Here’s some quick instructions on how:

  1. Login to your account.
  2. Go to the subaccount where your check will be deposited.
  3. Select the “Pending” header listing.
  4. Click the Description of the deposit. Under the title of the deposit, the anticipated posting date will be listed.

How long does it typically take for a pending check to be posted?

We always hope for sooner than later, but anticipate a 1-2 business day wait to be safe – especially with the sudden increase in volume.
