SIU Credit Union Announces March Seminar Series

February 13, 2017 – Carbondale, IL – SIU Credit Union is pleased to announce it will be hosting a series of a free financial seminars this March.  Open to credit union members and the public, the seminars will focus on a variety of financial topics including budgeting, protecting yourself from identity theft, and housing options for seniors.

Thursday, March 2, 2017 | Build A Basic Budget >The 5-Step Spending Plan

  • Learn how to set realistic financial goals for you and your family, to track where your money goes, how to develop a spending plan and more. Hosted by Kim Babington. A featured event during America Saves Week 2017.

Thursday, March 9, 2017 | Identity Theft & Fraud >Who’s Got Your Number?

  • When it comes to your personal information—like your Social Security number—do you know when you have to give it out, and when you don’t? Hosted by Kim Babington. A featured event during National Consumer Protection Week.

Thursday, March 16, 2017 | Planning for Housing as we Age >Housing and Care Options

  • Practical financial planning for senior adults. Representatives from Shawnee Alliance will discuss local options for in-home and facilities-based living arrangements for seniors. Hosted by Scott McClatchey.

All seminars are free and open to credit union members and the public, but space is limited. For reservations call (618) 549-8621 or email marketing@siucu.org. Seminars will be begin at 5:30 PM and be conducted at the SIU Credit Union Admin Building (400 N. Giant City Road in Carbondale – across the street from branch).  Snack and drinks will be served to all attendees.
