New Debit Cards Coming Soon for Some Members

SIU Credit Union members with instant-issued debit cards will be receiving their new card in the mail at the end of July. These cards should be activated on Monday, August 7th, as that is when the old card will not work anymore. Please continue to use your existing cards through Sunday, August 6th.

Activation is simple. Just call the number listed on the front of the card and follow the steps shared, and you’ll be ready to go in minutes.

For Members who DID NOT receive their card INSIDE A BRANCH, your existing card will continue to work fine, including after August 7th. These members should have no interruption.

Benefits of the card include:

  • Increased security and fraud prevention, including contactless payments
  • Manage features of your account straight from the app, including setting up travel notes, alerts and more
  • Visa Account Updater added, which is a new service that provides card number and expiration date updates to merchants who maintain card-on-file (COF) account information to process recurring customer payments.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at 618-457-3595, callcenter@siucu.org or chat with us at siucu.org.

I tired using my old card today and it will it work. Is that due to getting a new card or does my current card have issues?

Everyone’s existing cards will work through August 7th. Only those members who have received a card in the mail in the past few days will need to activate the new card on Monday, August 7th.
