Marion Branch | 2809 Outer Drive (Behind O’Charley’s)

ID theft continues to be one on the most damaging types of fraud. Did you know a recent Javelin Strategy study showed there were 14.4 million victims of identity theft? each case cost the victim an average of $1,050 – and that’s only the cost in dollars. When an individual’s identity is stolen, the thief wreaks major havoc on the victim’s financial health, which can take months, or even years, to recover from.

Why make it easy for thieves to get their hands on your sensitive information? Thwart dumpster divers by shredding papers containing confidential information–particularly Social Security numbers, credit card offers, and statements. It only takes seconds to shred, but months or even years to clear your record once scammers set up fraudulent accounts in your name.

We will be implementing the following COVID protocol:
*All people bringing items to shred must stay in their cars and wear masks, if not vaccinated.

Examples of items that can be brought for shredding:
*Credit Union / Bank Statements and Old Checks
*Medical & Insurance Forms
*Anything with your Social Security number on it
*Retired Tax Forms (over 3 years old)
*Credit Card Statements

This year, we’re also accepting donations of non-perishable food items from patrons and we will share these with our local food pantries.

Event hosted by WPSD Local 6.  Shredding provided by Shred-It.
