Carbondale, IL- August 28, 2015 SIU Credit Union, in conjunction with Silkworm, Idea Creative Marketing, and the Southern Illinois Miners, raised over $5,200 in monetary and non-perishable food donations for Christian Community Compassion Center (4C’s) of Saline County. 4C’s, a community food pantry located in Harrisburg, serves over 1,200 individuals each month from Saline County and the surrounding area.

“We are very committed to the communities we serve”, stated Karli Feldhake, Marketing Director for SIU Credit Union. “Besides the financial contribution achieved by the campaign, Knock Out Hunger also generated awareness of the increasing need our communities face feeding the hungry.”

Knock Hunger Out of The Park is an event to benefit local food pantries in southern Illinois by asking the community to donate non-perishable food items at select Southern Illinois Miners home games. SIU Credit Union presented donations to 4C’s at the game on August 26, 2015.
