SIU Credit Union Announces 2026 Scholarship Winners

Carbondale, IL – April 30, 2026 – SIU Credit Union is proud to announce the awarding of ten scholarships to deserving students.

Supporting the pursuit of higher education has been a core part of our identity since our founding as the Jackson County Teachers Credit Union in 1938. In keeping with this heritage, we are proud to award $1,000 scholarships to ten exceptional individuals again this year.

In selecting our winners, we prioritize our principles of social responsibility and community support. Beyond academic achievement, we focus on applicants who demonstrate a sincere desire to give back to their communities. We are honored to support these students as they begin their next chapter.


Jesse Crews-Grom

Jesse Crews-Grom graduates from Massac County High School. She plans to attend Southern Illinois University-Carbondale to obtain a degree in Social Work.

 


Jenna Deason

Jenna Deason graduates from Frankfort Community High School and plans to attend Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She is pursuing a degree in Exercise Science.

 


Tucker Deming

Tucker Deming is a 2026 graduate of Trico High School. He plans to attend Ranken Technical College to study Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration.

 


Isabelle Hou

Isabelle Hou graduates from Carbondale Community High School this year. She will be attending Washington University in St. Louis where she plans to obtain a degree in Biological Science.

 


Adelynn Knope

Adelynn Knope graduated from Trico High School in December and has completed her first year at John A. Logan College this spring. She will be continuing at JALC where she plans to obtain an Associate Degree in Business.

 


Olivia Moyers

Olivia Moyers graduates from Benton High School this year. She will be attending Rend Lake College where she plans to start her path toward a degree in Chiropractic.

 


Londynn Pontious

Londynn Pontious graduates from Christopher HS this year. She will be attending Southern Illinois University-Carbondale where she will be pursuing a degree in Dental Hygiene.

 


 Peyton Rose

Peyton Rose is a 2026 Hardin County High School graduate. He will be attending Southeastern Illinois College to study Accounting.

 


 Kylie Vaughn

Kylie Vaughn graduates from Vienna High School and plans to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale and obtain a degree in Elementary Education.

 


 

Kaelyn Viernum

Kaelyn Viernum graduates from Carbondale Community High School.  She plans to attend Lewis & Clark College to study Political Science.
