Free Shred Days
SIU Credit Union has finalized our schedule of Free Shred Days for 2025.
• Metropolis - May 8th, 2025
• Harrisburg - June 5th, 2025
• Marion - July 10th, 2025
• Carbondale - Oct. 16th 2025
Individuals can bring up to 50 pounds of personal documents to be shredded on-site for free.
Each Shred Day event is held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
We will be implementing the following protocol:
- All people bringing items to shred are asked to stay in their cars.
- Hand sanitizer will be available.
- As we’ve done in recent years, we’ll be accepting non-perishable donations to share with one of our local food pantries.
Examples of items that can be brought for shredding:
- Credit Union / Bank Statements and Old Checks
- Medical & Insurance Forms
- Anything with your Social Security number on it
- Retired Tax Forms (over 3 years old)
- Credit Card Statements
