Changes to Zelle®

Zelle® recently announced that as of March 31, 2025, current users of the app will no longer be able to transfer money through the Zelle® app, and only through banks and credit unions that are enrolled to offer Zelle® through their mobile banking. SIU Credit Union does offer Zelle® through our online banking app.

To continue using Zelle®, all users must enroll through one of the more than 2,200 banks and credit unions that offer Zelle® through their mobile app. If you’re already using Zelle® within our mobile banking app, then there are no changes and you do not need to take any action.

If you’re dealing with a financial institution who isn’t part of the Zelle® network, you are still able to make transfers through the SIUCU mobile banking app by setting up a direct transfer. Here are some videos that demonstrate how to send money to Contact (an SIUCU member or someone who uses a different financial institution) and to an External Account (one that is YOUR account with another institution):
