SIU Credit Union (SIUCU) purchased new office space in Carbondale earlier this year to accommodate recent growth and future expansion.
Final paperwork was signed on January 5th for SIUCU to take over the former Aetna offices located at 1175 E. Main St., within the University Mall in Carbondale. Back office administrative staff has moved into the facility over the past several weeks.
No branch locations will be moved, and day-to-day activity will remain the same for members.
“We are thrilled that SIU Credit Union has chosen University Mall as the site for its newest office location,’’ said Elliot Nassim of Mason Asset Management, which works in partnership with Namdar Realty Group to oversee leasing and property management efforts at the mall. “We have worked hard to establish the mall as a mixed-use destination and continue to welcome interest from a diverse range of potential tenants and partners in sectors such as healthcare, shopping, entertainment, and multifamily residential. We eagerly anticipate the opening of SIUCU and look forward to seeing its impact on our growing community here as we advance our vision for University Mall’s redevelopment.”
“We needed additional space and we saw an opportunity to reinvest in one of our communities, so it was an easy decision,” said Mike Lantrip, CEO of SIUCU, “This new facility will allow us to grow effectively and better assist our membership for years to come.” The 80,000 square foot building now houses staff who had been working at three other locations.
