Carbondale, IL – May 2, 2024 – SIU Credit Union is proud to announce the awarding of ten scholarships to deserving students pursuing higher education degrees.
Originally founded as the Jackson County Teachers Credit Union in 1938, we’re keeping with our lineage in supporting those wishing to further their education and award $1,000 scholarships to ten deserving individuals every year. Along with our history, we keep in mind our operating principles when selecting our winners. Some of these include supporting members through financial stability and social responsibility.
Through this lens, we review our submissions and consider academic excellence, economic need, and how they plan on giving back to their communities.
