Carbondale, IL – May 1, 2023 – SIU Credit Union is proud to announce the awarding of ten scholarships to deserving students pursuing higher education degrees.  The scholarship presentations will be made at our regional branches. Each student receives a $1,000 scholarship for the 2023-24 school year.  The 2023 scholarship winners, along with their institutions and fields of study, are noted below.

 

 

Kelsi Bigler

Kelsi Bigler graduates from Herrin High School and plans to attend Murray State and major in Elementary Education.

Allison Dennison

Allison Dennison graduates from Harrisburg High School and plans to attend Murray State where she will pursue a degree in Music Education.

Kayce Glenn

Kayce Glenn is a 2023 graduate of Carterville High School. She plans to attend Eastern Illinois University to study Elementary Education.

Sol Lopez

Sol Lopez of Carbondale graduates from CCHS this year. He will be attending the SIU-Carbondale where he plans to obtain a degree in Sociology.

Bennett Neely

Bennett Neely of Metropolis graduates from Massac County HS this year. He will be attending the Southeastern Illinois College where he plans to mayor in Physical Education.

Dorian Sparks

Dorian Sparks of Metropolis graduates from Massac County HS this year. She will be attending SIU-Carbondale where she plans to obtain a degree in Healthcare Management.

Joseph Uraski

Joseph Uraski of Royalton is a current student at SIU-Carbondale, where he is pursuing a degree in Healthcare Management.

 Tyler Worthen

Tyler Worthen graduates from Herrin HS this year. He will be attending SIU-Carbondale to study Pre-Law.

 Starla Yarber

Starla Yarber of Eldorado is a current student at Missouri Baptist University where she plans to obtain a degree in Behavioral Science.

Ann Zoeckler

Ann Zoeckler is a 2022 graduate of Nashville High School.  She plans to attend Kaskaskia College to study Radiologic Technology.
