SIU Credit Union Announces Expansion Approval

November 1, 2016 – Carbondale, IL – SIU Credit Union has received approval from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation to add thirteen additional Illinois counties to its field of membership.  SIU Credit Union can now offer credit union membership to individuals that live or work in Alexander, Clinton, Edwards, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Monroe, Pope, Pulaski, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, or White counties.

New members interested in joining SIU Credit Union can visit www.siucu.org for more information on membership and financial services including online/mobile banking, checking and savings accounts, mortgages, auto loans, investments and more.

Founded in 1938 as Jackson County Teachers Credit Union, SIU Credit Union has grown into one of the largest credit unions in southern Illinois with over 38,000 members and more than $320 million in assets.  In addition, it has been at the forefront of supporting education and financial-literacy through scholarships to local students and the Banzai financial literacy program that is free to middle and high school teachers.
