SIU Credit Union Breaks Ground on New Marion Branch
SIU Credit Union is excited to announce that ground has been broken for its newest branch location at 105 W DeYoung St. in Marion, IL. The ceremony took place on Friday, July 11, 2025.
This new branch signifies SIU Credit Union’s continued commitment to serving its members in Marion and the surrounding communities. The facility will offer a full range of financial services, including personal and business banking, loans, and investment services, all delivered with the credit union’s signature focus on member satisfaction. This new branch, along with the existing Marion branch at 2809 Outer Drive will provide members added convenience.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in Marion,” said Mike Lantrip, President and CEO of SIU Credit Union. “This new branch will allow us to better serve our growing membership in the area and provide convenient access to the financial services they need to thrive. We look forward to becoming an even more integral part of the Marion community.”
The project is a long time in the making, and the timing was right for expansion. “It’s on the interstate. In Southern Illinois, it’s what’s hopping,” Lantrip said. “We’re doing well financially, so it’s about what’s next. This is the next logical step to serve more folks.”
SIU Credit Union leadership, board members, local dignitaries, and community stakeholders attended the event. The tentative opening date is slated for early 2026.
