SIU Credit Union (SIUCU) announces its Board of Directors, effective July 25 2023.

The new leadership includes:
Chris Sievers, Chairman
Deb Nelson, Vice Chair
Jeff McGoy, Secretary
JP Dunn, Treasurer

Sievers has been a member of SIU Credit Union for nearly 20 years and spent nine years working as its Director of Marketing. In 2017, he was appointed to the Supervisory Committee, and has served on the Credit Committee, Finance Committee, and Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO), as well as leading the recruitment efforts for SIUCU volunteer committee members. He is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and is the vice president and administrator of SI Elder Law, LLC. He lives in Marion with his wife, Tiffanny, and three kids, Daily, Savannah and Maria. 

Nelson began serving SIU Credit Union as a member of the Credit Committee in 2017. She has served on Supervisory and Credit Committee and is currently the Chairman of the Asset/Liability Committee. Deb, a double graduate of Southern Illinois University, is now also employed there. She resides in Carterville, IL.

McGoy has been a proud volunteer on the SIU Credit Union Board for several years, and has served on our Credit, Supervisory and ALCO Committees as well. Jeff works at SIU as the Director of Exploratory Student Advisement and the Center for Learning Support Services. He is an adjunct instructor for several local colleges, a motivational speaker and artist. Jeff is a native of Cairo, Illinois but resides in Carbondale. McGoy shares, that “Service to others is my passion. Helping others grow and see their full potential is very rewarding.”

JP Dunn has served on SIU Credit Union’s Board since 2020. Prior to this, Dunn has served on the ALCO, Finance and Technology Committees, and has been volunteering for SIUCU nearly 20 years. Dunn is the Learning Management System Administrator at SIU-C where he has worked for over 25 years. He has worked with the Newman Center’s thanksgiving meal since 1990 and has been the coordinator for the last several years. Dunn spends a great deal of time volunteering cooking for the students at the Newman Center throughout the semester and if not behind the computer he would rather be behind the stove.

Rod Sievers has been appointed to serve as a Board member as well. Sievers had been a member of the Credit Committee since 2020 and has been appointed to our ALCO Committee as well as a Board seat in July 2023.
